Tour description

Start your journey with a comfortable pickup from your accommodation in Sousse, Monastir, Hammamet, or Mahdia, and set out for a full-day tour of two of Tunisia’s most iconic historical sites.

Kairouan

Begin in Kairouan, the first Islamic city in North Africa and one of the holiest in the Muslim world. Walkthrough its historic Medina and visit the Great Mosque of Uqba, one of the oldest and most important mosques in Africa.

The tour continues to the Aghlabid Basins, remarkable 9th-century water reservoirs that reflect earlyIslamic engineering. You’ll also visit a local mausoleum (zaouia) — a sacred burial site and spiritual landmark — giving you insight into Tunisian religious culture.

El Jem

After your meal, continue to the quaint village of El Jem. Here, you will discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the El Jem amphitheater. Marvel at North Africa’s largest amphitheater, which is also one of the world’s best-preserved Roman monuments, capable of seating up to 35,000 people.

Afterward, travel to El Jem, home to the famous Roman Amphitheatre, one of the largest and best-preserved in the world. This grand colosseum once held up to 35,000 spectators. You’ll also visit the El Jem Archaeological Museum, known for its impressive collection of Roman mosaics and artifacts. Enjoy scenic views, expert guidance, and a rich blend of Islamic and Roman history before returning to your accommodation in the afternoon or early evening.
